anyone watch this last night?
it was the first i've seen of the series. basically an hour long interview with live spots from the same artist. last night was smokey robinson.
all i can say is i am definitely going to see him live, no matter what the cost. i was painting the bathroom with the tv on next door and the singing voice filtering through just did not correlate with the image of a 68 year old man. his singing voice sounded 90% of what it was in his 60's heyday. maybe not as powerful, but the tone & soul are still there.
if you missed it i'd say its def. worth finding on 4OD. great anecdotes about the motown years, his earlier career, his songwriting etc. as well as his views on race, religion etc. found him to be a very affable bloke.
