In reference to In Silico, are the album only tracks any better than those released as singles? Considering that i 'should' like them, the singles i've heard were horrid.
Well, maybe you just don't like Pendulum then. One of my favourite tracks on the album is "The Tempest" but I wouldn't say it was significantly better than "Propane Nightmares" or "Granite". So that's a no then.
Yeah, maybe I dont like Pendulum..
It's just that most people who like Prodigy like them, and I tend to like most pop-dance type acts. I dont like what I'd call traditional DnB but I'd not call Pendulum that. I do like some breakbeat/jungle/DnB type stuff (Panacea/Disorder 2nd Gen in particular).
Anyway.. I dont mind some of the songs I've heard off Hold Your Colour but not heard the album - I had thought about giving it a whirl; just the more recent stuff with the singing I thought sounded bad.

I'm a Prodigy fan who doesn't enjoy Pendulum that much. I think its because I've always liked the 'ravier' (cheesier?) side of the Prodigy going back to my early 90's youth and their more dance focused early albums. Pendulum's In Silico was just monotonous for me, with the odd exception here and there. It's just that most people who like Prodigy like them, and I tend to like most pop-dance type acts. But even when the Prodigy stray into punk and a more industrial sound, it seems to have a bit more depth.

I've been listening to this album for the past few weeks and think it is superb. There is a lot of variety between songs, some reminiscent of The Experience and with some modern DnB style tracks. I like the use of different vocals, 'Thunder' reminds me of the Bob Marley track 'The sun is shining', and I especially like hearing Keiths voice on a few of the tracks. In my opinion he has improved over time and now brings more to the group then ever before.
I can see the point about Pendulum, and also some sections remind me a lot of bands such as Hadouken!. So a little on the indy/rave side, which is a combination I quite enjoy.
All in all I think it has been put together well and the last song is a very good "come down" from the rest of the album.
Keep up the good work Liam, Keith and Maxim
