Personally I though a lot of the vitriol was bollarx. He was, at the time, named as one of (if not the) best LB in the world and had been at Arse for years. Yet he was earning relative peanuts to many of the others, not considered to be the best in their position, and who had been at the club for far less time.
He had a verbal agreement (after lunch with DD and his agent) for £55k after all. Seems a bit of a ridiculous decision from the Arse board imo. They've not been able to replace him since.
