Put your mp3 / music player to shuffle and post the first 5 songs it plays ( honestly !!! ). Mine always drags up a wierd mix of honkingly awful nostalgia :-)

Here's mine on shuffle from my drive home yesterday, fairly random selection (but that's what shuffle is for !), but nothing bad there.

Goldie – Inner City Life (4 Hero remix Part 1) - Drum & Bass
Ken Ishii – Stretch (Shogun Remix) - Techno/Drum & Bass crossover
The Roots – Break You Off [Dub/Sound Check] - Hip Hop
Mutiny UK – New Horizons - House Music
Buccaneer & Blaxx / The Nudge feat. Rusty Ps – Blackout Rhythm/ The Quickness - Hip Hop/Dance

Edited to add genres

The Smiths - What Difference Does It Make?
Evoke - Arms of Loren
Bobby Goldsborough - Summer (The First Time)
Renaissance - Northern Lights
Paul Masterson - The Earthshaker

Makes very eclectic listening!

And probably says a lot about my musical taste!

Well since this is the section that interests me the most (until I manage to actually get a car) I suppose this best be where I make my first post even if it is a lowly "5 random songs" one tongue out

1. Soundgarden - Superunkown
2. The Beatles - Cry Baby Cry
3. Insomnium - Mortal Share
4. Chevelle - An Evening With El Diablo
5. Arch Enemy - Stigmata

No, that was a list from an old Philips jobby that I keep at work. As long as I have had it, not once do I remember it repeating an artist one after the other.

It does however have it's moments when it will only choose 5 or 6 songs and repeat them in the same order endlessly..

I do have an iPhone though and the shuffle function is pretty useless IMO... I just seem to get a constant stream of Metallica

Just done an iPhone shuffle for comparison;

  • Free - Oh I Wept
  • Metallica - The Thing That Should Not Be
  • RHCP - Right On Time (Live @ Hyde Park)
  • Metallica - The House Jack Built
  • Metallica - To Live Is to Die
ETA: Both devices have more or less the same songs on them

Maybe it likes Metallica!
Mine prefers bands starting with P as a rule.
