compared to many 60's tracks - the production on mid to late period beatles stuff is great - the drum issue is very common

- Get Carter will know far more than me but I suspect in those days a drummer would get one or two mikes for his kits and as a consequence you would only hear the cymbals.

anyway - apologies to you as a drummer but who cares about the drumming?.... it's the overall effect thats important

The production is understandably very poor, the mix is rubbish
Are you joking?
Seriously, are you joking?
No I'm not!!

As a drummer in a Beatles Tribute I have to listen to them to learn the songs. Most of the time I don't even know if there any drums in it as all I can hear is a tambour-bloody-rine!!

Then again when I do finally hear any drums I realise Ringo just stops playing his bass drum every now and then, or if he doesn't then it's not in the mix.

But as I said this is how I hear most of the stuff from that era and maybe I'm listening more to the drums than owt else?

To be honest, I've been wondering the same thing for years now

I understand that the timing was perfect and that their appearance and style must have been fairly radical at the time, but I have never EVER been able to get into their music. I've tried, but couldn't

Saying that, I tried listening to the Indie st when that came about, mates were all into Oasis so I gave them a shot and never tried since....

I guess it's just not my musical preference
