My first album was received rather than bought - though remains, over 30 years later, one of my favourite of all time:

Deep Purple - In Rock

Oh dear....Close to the Edge, Yes within a couple of weeks of its release. I then went on a buying frenzy waiting all of 6 months for the next purchase, Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Still one of the best albums ever and even my kids think so when they're not listening to hip hop or rap.

I can't remember but it was one of these two
Marillion - Misplaced Childhood (still have, albeit now on CD, great album)
or
Culture Club - Colour by Numbers (erm biggrin Victims is still a nice song though).

My first "proper" album was Deep Purple - Made in Europe.

Actual first one was Jungle Book.

First actual album was Action Trax !&2 which had songs like Japanese Boy and Swords Of A Thousand Men on it.

First album by a single outfit was also Kings Of The Wild Frontier like some others on here (also bought the CD a few years ago).
