Damnation festival in Leeds on the 1St November have announced their main stage headliner for their 10th anniversary show.
BOLT THROWER!
Who only play the UK once a blue moon. I normally wait to see who else gets announced before buying tickets as the last few years have been dire bar one or two bands but I'll happily pay £35 and sit through a day of ste to see Bolt Thrower. I have a feeling this one might sell out.

Being that I'm now reviewing for Metal Rules I can make a few black metalish suggestions:

Astrophobos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zYtUyT5_uI
and Kampfar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4P5ha2tZRM

Bolt Thrower? Brings back memories of seeing them play in the cellar bar of Bradford Queens Hall with Carcass and Paradise Lost in 1989. What a racket!BOLT THROWER!

Anyone Opeth fans on here?
I'm on a real Opeth trip at the moment
Bleak, Black Water Park, Face of Melinda, Fair Judgement, Serenity painted Death, Burden, Deliverence, Black Rose Immortal, The Moor....Bloody epic stuff!!
10-15 years ago I used to 'hate' them, purely because the amount people would go on about them online! I'm on a real Opeth trip at the moment

However I have always liked bits of them. They're definitely a talented band with elements of originality, some stunning riffs and passages; I wouldn't say I was a 'fan' though. If I wanted to listen to something of that ilk, or what gave me a similar feeling, I would pick some My Dying Bride or even mid-period Tiamat and latter Enslaved.

Was totally obsessed with them for years but interest has waned since the departure of most of the band, particularly Martin Lopez. They had some amazing tunes tough. Deliverance is awesome. Seen them a few times, really good live band too. I'm on a real Opeth trip at the moment

A bump while i put my flame suit on!
Bought bring me the horizons last album sempeternal after hearing a couple decent tunes on YouTube and its surprised me by actually being a pretty decent album right the way through! I'd have taken the piss myself a couple months back! Not that heavy an album but about the best place to put a post on it.
Did get a Ministry 5 album collection pack at the same time, need to get through those a bit more and straighten my head out a bit I think!

Just finally got Deftones' Koi No Yokan and Karnivool's Asymmetry.
Koi No Yokan is good. Great even. But it follows Diamond Eyes and I'm struggling to love it at this moment.
Asymmetry is another one I'm struggling to love at the moment. Some superb highlights, but for me, Sound Awake was a more cohesive offering. Asymmetry actually feels too much like the band self-indulging for my liking, like the last tracks you get on Tool offerings, but a full album's worth.
It's a funny one really, as I haven't yet gone for Dead Letter Circus' latest offering either, or Chevelle's as initial listenings have given me similar thoughts. I'll keep listening though - much of the stuff I like takes a few listens before I really get hooked.
