Black Prince in Northampton - HOP Fest 2019

Same promoters have just announced Ingested at same venue on 6th April.

I have no involvement with the promoters, but it's very much become my local since moving here, and it's cool to see this stuff getting put on. More I support it, the more established it becomes as a venue, so win win. There's a decent scene locally and regionally, and it's cool to see larger bands plugging into it.

Tonight's gig:-

Last Ten Seconds of Life
Lotus Eater

Fews others as well (think five bands in all). Bit more deathcore-y than my usual stuff, but it's in a small venue and will be stonkingly heavy, so why not eh?

Other bands from the above gig that I actually enjoyed far more than the two mentioned:-

Confessions of a Traitor
Lay Siege

Others weren't bad, but crowd interaction just seemed to be shouting "let's fk st up". Guess that works if you're a deathcore kid who wants to randomly windmill all about the place (and they did), but...not my thing.

Worth having a look at Trivax as well (Shayan S other band). Saw them in a small venue a while back, and they had a great proper old school BM vibe about them. Also did a stonking cover of "Into Crypt of Rays". Think their Bloodstock set is on YouTube.

I'm actually enjoying some deathcore at the moment, which has somewhat surprised me!

In Flames new album is rather good and for those who doubt the British metal scene While She Sleeps new album is pretty amazing

i've liked him since the first album.i wasn't aware of him until munky from korn was name checking him left and right about 10 years ago. his debut album was fking ace...

that ironed out sounds a lot like the second wave of hardcore bands from the early 2000s...but from london!

Loved the sound of the band, vocals just didn't do it for me though, put a Chuck Billy type in there and I would go see them.
