New KoRn track is making me feel like they are moving back to their 'older' sound - Love it. Hoping the new album will be a gooden.

If you are a fan of anything to do with Old Skool Metal (Melodic/Heavy/Power/Progressive), you might find something to like with my bands new video!

Enjoying the new Intervals EP today and happy to have discovered Slugdge too - funny song titles but solid music!

Slugdge are superb - Esoteric Malacology is my favourite album of the last year by a long distance. Lyrics are a lot deeper than the song titles would suggest.

Not sure where you're based, but they're playing some odd gigs - Bournemouth in a venue that holds about 100, Milton Keynes, London and Glasgow from memory.

Not got anyone to go with yet and have a spare ticket, but i'm not missing Will Haven playing 10 miles from my house!
if i was closer than 200 miles away (liverpool) i'd come with you and get the ale in biggrin..

i'll have a look now and see how close they are getting to me! beer
Went along and bumped into someone else on their own, so spent the gig with him which was cool.

It was so hot i swear my legs were sweating, but WHVN were as tight as you'd expect them to be after years and years together.

Not the best gig i've ever been to, but happy I went.

Watching Download now. Pretty good stuff.

Was surprised to see Die Antwoord playing mind.
I love them , think they are brilliant but was surprised the crowd seemed to like them so much. I even think they were surprised as well at their interview.

Just subscribed to both Avantgarde (€3.33/m) and Hypnotic Dirge ($5CAD/m) on Bandcamp, and now have ~150 back catalogue items to listen to!

Few favourites after a quick skim:-

I have no idea how Ghost have passed me by. Saw them at Etihad and was absolutely blown away. Don't think I've ever left a gig humming a song by the support band (Year Zero).

Now utterly addicted to them.
Has your taint recovered? biggrin They were fantastic, even better when the little old lady next to me asked if we were worshipping Satan.
You better had been!

FWIW Ghost are playing Wembley Arena on 22 Nov. Tickets go on sale on Friday.

Not entirely sure I can explain aAnd?, but blimey that was a fun gig.

Looked a bit like this, but with "Vision On" interlude music, assorted band members wandering offstage and with more sheep noises.

Edited to add - greatly enjoyed Orka as well.

Cant get enough of parkway drive at the moment, blew me away when I went to see them in Nottingham earlier in the year.

Also seeing slipknot at download made me delve back into stone sour again.

Quirky band from download worth a listen - alien weaponry (they are about 12 and somehow get their ancestral music into metal!)

Logical move really. I'm in one of the UK Metallica Chapters and almost everyone who saw them on this tour has been massively impressed with them, They've picked up a lot of new fans so adding a few UK dates to make the most of that is a great idea. Greatly looking forward to it.

This evening, I have mostly been revisiting some my quirkier favourites from way back when:-

Korpse - Pull the Flood
Pan.Thy.Monium - Dream II
Lubricant - Semistarvation
Xysma - Why Am I?

Entombed tend to get the credit for birthing death 'n roll, but there were a lot of other bands about at the time doing quirky and interesting things that probably deserves more recognition.

Never really exposed to power violence previously, but saw these guys at a local grind/doom show and they took my face off, so been getting into it a lot more of late.
