Album is out tomorrow isn't it, I'm looking forward to it as the single was great.

Came here precisely to extol the virtues of this one. It's absolutely incredible, their best album since Hell Is Empty...and quite probably their best ever release. Absolutely perfect for the current global climate and those first four tracks have got to be one of the strongest album starts I can remember.

Late to the party on this one but I had it on a gym earlier and it is great; I really need to see them live frown

Damnarion have put their first round of bands out for the 2022 festival and I would watch every one of them!

I'm rolling my ticket over from this years cancelled event, is anyone else doing the same/planning on attending?

Definitely a few I'd like to see, Regarde Les Hommes Tomber, Morne and Blood Incantation probably the most appealing at the moment I'll have to see how things are working out in a few months but probably will go. I didn't have tickets for this year.

I suspect if you wait a few months then tickets won’t be absent, It’s selling very, very well.

I’ve got tickets but I’m not convinced that concerts will be happening, it’s a superb first announcement without a headliner yet.

Yes I appreciate that. So far there's nobody unmissable, and in the past I've not found it particularly well organised. I tend to prefer festivals in mainland Europe so I'll see what's announced. Admittedly there's nobody I am desperate to see, so it will probably be what's convenient.

I stopped doing damnation for a few years after I think out was the 2009 event where you just couldn’t move and I missed so many bands just trying to get between stages. They reduced capacity for it and I’ve been going since, got a lot of sentimental value for it as we got engaged when down at damnation.

I do the outdoor fests in Europe but never really gone for the indoor ones, we were going to do Eindhoven this year with my dying bride but Covid put an end to that.

Where abouts in Europe do you visit? I've done Hellfest three times (2017/2018/2019) and had a great time each year. I was due to head to Wacken this year - alas no joy.

I'm heading to Beyond the Gates in Norway next year, all being well with the Covid lark. Tickets were a billion pounds but I have friends there so the digs are thankfully free.

Brutal Assault is on the radar too, they always seem to pull a stellar lineup out of the bag!

I've done Hellfest since 2010, I missed a year due to work though don't think I'll be going next year, it's got so huge it's lost what I used to love about it, and the constant groping last year really didn't help my mood with it if I'm honest.

Friends rate Brutal Assault highly who have done it, I'm meant to be doing metal-days in Slovenia next year if it goes ahead, would be very nice to meet my friends from Slovenia again!

It may have been in 2008 when I experienced the disappointing jam between stages, did go back again in either 2014 or 2015. I perhaps remember it being an improvement but despite the usually decent line ups, there's almost always a couple of clashes. Would work better over two days.

I've done Eindhoven 3 times, generally very good although it always seems very hot at the venue. The Netherlands does get some decent festivals, Aurora Infernalis was one I enjoyed but that seems to have stopped.

Coincidentally, I got engaged while in Bergen for the Beyond The Gates festival in 2017. Not quite as convenient as Damnation for a return..

The area that Metal Days (Tomlinn?) is held at looks amazing, that should be a great weekend- fingers crossed!

Hellfest does feel busy, that's my one gripe, particularly the Thursday evening when the arena isn't open. Knotfest helped alleviate that last year, though. As for the groping.... yeesh, the dirty bds. rage

Obscene Extreme is another one I can highly recommend. Tends to be a little more crust and grind heavy than the better known fests but a great environment and one of the last bastions of truly ridiculous onstage antics that have been long since banned everywhere else.

Paradise Lost are doing a live stream from their recording studio tonight, party

A band that I love but have only managed to see once and it was at Download Festival way back in 2007, so I'm pretty happy about seeing this, despite the Covidy circumstances forcing them to perform online!

Genocidal Hunanoidz is promising enough but Protect the Land is utter garbage, it seems very ‘phoned in’

I think they're both pretty good songs, typical SOAD fare.
