Mild Und Leise aka Liebestod, sung by Waltraud Meier. Nothing else I know can compare to this.

Probably been posted already, I watched an amazing nature documentary.
As soon as I heard this it almost made me cry and I'm not a classical music kinda guy!
Just beautiful!

Someone previously posted "The John Dunbar" theme from Dances With Wolves
I love Barry's work, and this is my favourite incidental piece:-
The Beyondness Of Things
Whilst on a classical theme, Chopin had wonderful moments, but - I think - this was his best:-
Piano Concerto #1 2nd Movement

Probably not, but we should have done by now I don't think this one has been mentioned and I hope it fits the bill -
Monroe by Sara Niemietz
I started listening to her as she was (is?) one of the regulars on Postmodern Jukebox, then this song started and it really took me back how beautiful the song is. It's also a positive song which makes a nice change.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but ‘Benedictus’ from The Armed Man by Sir Karl Jenkins is definitely a haunting piece of music.
Had forgotten about this. Thank you.ClassicFM back in 2004 driving in to work.
I wept openly.

I was going to suggest Archive Again, but then I just heard the live version
I’ve seen Archive live loads of times, the most memorable for me being at The Zenith in Paris, I’ll never forget looking at the audience around me at the peak of that song and seeing loads of people crying, I've never seen that at a concert before - the emotion and performance that singer Dave Pen puts into it is breathtaking. Last time I saw them was at Alexandra Palace and again, at the peak of the song the audience were mesmerised by it. This stripped down version, whole song is amazing but the part I’m talking about at 4m40s onwards....
