No More I love you

Wonderful song and video. Annie Lennox at her stunning best.

Though this comes a close second for me ....

Songs and videos seem to have lost so much since these were done ... just amazing for so many reasons

Fixed that for you - (it always grates when you were a huge fan of the little known original):

I love playing this on acoustic:-

John Mayer; XO

Great chord progression (which contains a Fmaj7, my favourite)

Reminds me of this:-

I was on a lunch break in (I think 2007), and ClassicFM played it.

Goosebumps.
On a similar note, I like this track from Perfume...

I think we've had instrumentals on here, so here's a lovely piano solo with the video in Vaseline-O-Vision.

I think this is a beautiful tune.

It was the backing track to a YT vid I watched last year (sorry, I might ramble a bit here), and I managed to transcribe it for guitar. The opening chords are very atmospheric; D/F > A > Eadd9 moving to Bm > Dsus2 > A > E.

Anyway.

Back in March of this year, my Mum died from cancer. Diagnosed in Feb, she was dead four weeks later. A couple of weeks after that, we were at friends for dinner and at one point I retired to their living room to have a noodle on their piano. Shortly after, Jan walked in and demanded that I stop pissing around with the piano and grab her guitar and play stuff for the guests outside,

I played this.

On finishing, I dedicated it to my Mam.

Because, my Mam & Dad divorced when I was 3 and for the next 15 years she built a home for us before she re-married. I'll never forget that.

I am absolutely loving this guy right now and would add his recent single "Spit of You" to this list. IMHO it's one of the best and most beautiful songs of this generation of singer/song-writers. Great video too.

I think it hits a particular nerve with me as I was semi-estranged from my father i.e. we had a long-distance, emotionless and business-like relationship after he and my mother divorced when I was young. He died three years ago relatively young and it's hard knowing I will never get the chance to tell him how I really felt.

Agreed. Sam Fender is one of the few highlights of current music imho.

A piece I've recently discovered is this one - Karl Jenkins, Benedictus from The Armed Man. Absolute sublime beauty.

Plenty of good suggestions on this thread but Grace, even the Rod Stewart version, would get my vote.

Although I’m well aware there are a long list of rebel songs in every country that can play the heart strings I don’t live in every country.

I've mentioned a few on this thread but this record seems highly appropriate these days of divisiveness, stress and health issues.

Love Wishbone Ash anyway, well, showing my age, the original band's 1973 4th LP Wishbone Four, and this track very aptly stating 'Everybody Needs A Friend'.

Great guitar (and Steve Upton's drumming) and additional keyboard by Englishman George Nash on this track, I'd say hauntingly beautiful (imo) lyrics sung by Martin Turner.
