A good day.
9 of us met at the Cat and Fiddle and decided that we'd do the road routes in convoy and then split where necessary to do the unpaved routes in order not to have more than the preferred groups of 4.
As we climbed up from Chapel en le Frith to the Pennine Bridleway we came across a group of young walkers who were lost. I was last in the group of vehicles and I realised that not only were they lost but one of them was close to hyperthermia. They had been up there for 2 nights. I put him in the back along with a girl to take care of him and set off for castleton only to find the truck making a grinding noise in 4wd which I hadn't used until then.
So that was the end of my day, my friend Paul and his friend Mark led the group for the rest of the day and a good time was had by all.
Wales anyone?

Still on a high and shaking with nerves from this.
I have to say a big thank you to everyone on this outing for their patience and guidance. It was a really friendly group who had no qualms about waiting for us novices.
Can't wait for the next one. Although I think a new set of wheels/tyres might be in order......but no I will not be the first one to "bob-tail" the car.
