I've just been looking at a 14 plate GC SRT, very much taken with the idea of ownership..
Can anyone shed any light on their ownership experiences (good and bad) before I jump in?

My step dad has a 2016 srt gc. He loves it. Its surprisingly economical, fairly reliable and the gearbox is amazing.

I have had Grand Cherokee Jeeps since 2004, 4.8 which was amazing. 3.6 in Aus which I imported back into UK, that was amazing and stylish. Then I thought what the heck I will try the Red Vapour SRT 8. Wow it turns heads when people see it and hear it. It comfortable, very reliable, powerful good on Fuel consumption but if you want better fuel consumption buy a Smart car or diesel.

Mine is same as the pictures inside and out!

You wont regret it.

Thanks for the information. They do look great in my opinion, I ran a V8 FX a while ago which drove surprisingly well for a big, heavy lump. I should imagine the GC is far more driver focused however!

Its about 2.2 Ton I believe, but handles extremely well. The power is amazing. Mine has black markings so not many people know what it is, great at Traffic lights when you have an idiot trying to burn you off. or someone is tail gating on the motorway. Foot down they are a distant memory.

Sits on the motorway in cruise control and will happily get 12KM/100km.. But then I never bought it for its fuel consumption.

I have had no issues, maintenance is usual stuff. The Disks need to be changed around every 35K.... I had Pirelli PZero run flats on but when I tried to replace them with same tyres, there was only 1 in the country as Pirelli had not replenished stock. I now have continental cross, which was the only Tyres I could get. not as good though. So waiting to get PZero again when there are some.

You wont regret it.

Had one of these take off from me on the auto-route in France a week or so back - me and the kids actually laughed out loud at the pace and noise of the thing. Then coincidentally a friend turned up in a Red Vapour - lovely inside and out, lovely noise. Proper muscle car rock from side to side when you blip the throttle. I would love one!

Not sure about the depreciation curve though?!

You can get one of these at the moment brandnew on a lease for about ~£790 a month. A good family wagon.
