that must have been just a little scary! yikes

it does make you think though, because with something that size you really do need to have nice strong trees around to pull against!

is that winch cable still under tension whilst people are next to it/climbing under it?

Yep, it was under tension,but seeing as it was a 9 tonne cable,and brand new,and we were well within that,the risk was extremely low.
If you're not happy with that,best call the fun Police.

Nice truck Normal bloke. i have just bought a U900 for my tree surgery business. i will post pics when the chipper is all on etc.

Cheers TC,would be great to see your truck on here.You plan on using it offroad at all or is it just a workhorse?

Just a workhorse but i do have to get to some far reaching places. i will be off road most days. my 130 Defender is the workhorse at the moment but i always try and find a muddy route. my yard can be accessed through a ford in the river so i use that as much as possible.
Is your just for fun?

You're not alone in that. I saw a blue one being used by a tree surgery business joining the A3 at Cobham yesterday, which I assume wasn't you if you're in Devon?
