That's the fella I see it at least twice a week on my commute from upavon to andover.
Seen some pretty dodgy driving from the land wardens as well, are they trained in high speed pursuit?

normalbloke, it's no urban legend i know people who have been pulled by the chopper!! Things got very tight after a little girl got knocked over and killed by a guy on an untaxed/uninsured crosser.
It's not an army helicopter (although a couple of mates have been suprised by an apache when out on enduros at night), the police heli is in the area very regularly.
I live in Shipton and play golf at Tiddy 2 or 3 times a week......Never (EVER) seen it.
I live in tidworth, and have a very good reason to visit (DD) delta delta crossing at least twice a day. I have done for years now, and I have seen the police chopper in the area at least once a week. It just so happens that the plain around tidworth area is a favourite training area for the police chopper!!

years ago when i first saw it i started to do doughnuts on the tank crossing trying to get a reaction, they ignored me and continued with whatever they were doing, but yes, it is here on a VERY REGULAR basis and is only MINUTES away from its base.
What are they using? I see plenty of Squirrel training stuff about as well the obvious Lynx, Gazelle, Chinooks, Apaches etc.
Come on, keep up at the back...smile

You'll also see a Black/Silver Jetranger tracking Shrewton/Tilshead/Lavington on a high pressure fuel main.I've also seen Merlin and Super Sea Stallion floating about having a play, and boy ,are they big when you get near them in a Jetranger....

After spending 12 years flying around in the back of them I dont tend to take a lot of notice of them now wink

Quite, I nearly got tw*t*d by my new forest last week when a chinnock went over about 100 feet or less. Seen the merlins and apaches about as well. Five Gazelles about yesterday afternoon.

Whats the flash posh white one i've seen about, similar possibly to a wessex??

GUys, if your folish enough to pass the flags whilst on the plain, you deserve everything you get.
Im out on the plain most weekends and have always found the wardens a great source of info and helpful.
even when you turn the corner to find yoru face to face with a 20 tonne warrior APC.
Both as a biker and a 4x4 enthusiast, ive always found that if you contract the police in Tidworth and tell them your off on the plain or tidowrth training grounds, they will tell you where you can and cannot go and what places are def out of bounds. (eg the bombardment area at Larkhill )
the plain is over 130,000 sq. miles, of which, 100,000 have public access rights.

Playsafe and may see you about.
