Pay and Play sites near Liverpool

Erm......Had my discovery for 3 months now and so far the only place near where I live that I have been able you use it off road was in ellsmere port by the vauxhall plant. But that seems to be a bit dodgy for having coppers outside when you leave.
Is there anywhere else (im happy to pay to get it muddy) near liverpool/wirral?

The best one around is Cown quarry at Whitworth Rochdale. OK it's a bit of a drive from Liverpool, but it's a big place.
£25/day/vehicle. on the last Sunday in the month.
Get there for 9-30am, (they start at 10am) but you need to book in first.
You'll need your vehicle docs and driving licence. (This is due to some of your scouse colleagues stealing vehicles, taking them there and trashing them, dissapearing and leaving the site to explain to the authorities)
Any other drivers of the vehicle must also have their driving licence,(all in the vehicle can drive, so long as they show their docs and book in)
No vehicles allowed on trailers, they must all be road legal.
Spectators are allowed for free, but must wear hi-vis vest (they have a few to loan out)
There is a snackbar, but it does get busy, best to take your own grub. There are also toilets.
Basically, there are 2 routes,the GREEN route and the RED route. The green route is for first-timers, and road'ish tyres etc, with very little chance of damageing the vehicle. The RED route is for the more experienced, with good off-road tyres and diff-lock etc. Although you can stray from the green route and "do" pieces of the red route that you fancy any time. you can switch between the parts of either routes as much as you wish.
There are other area's "off piste" which lots of people play on and get stuck, requiring a friendly pull out.
There are marshals around, and anyone getting stuck on one of the routes, they'll help for free, if you get stuck "off piste" and they finish up having to get you out, then they charge (but usually someone will get you out, if it's just to try out their winch)
There is also a place near to Liverpool called "Hill and Ditch" (Go Google it) although I've never been, I believe it's not very big, it's an old sand quarry, and your wheel bearing are knackered within days afterwards as it gets into them. As I said, I've not been, that's the reason why!
