Get a face-lifted (after '98) Cherokee 4 ltr on gas (if poss).
Decent size of boot, easily folded rear seats to increase boot capacity, built in roof rack and bars, comfy enough to drive, pretty civilised, plenty creature comforts. Plenty of them about for not a lot of ££ and a pretty reliable vehicle too.

It seems from browsing the forum that evrything is more reliable then a Disco.
I wanted a LR but it seems if you want a decent Lr then it has to be a Defender.. otherwise Land Cruiser and even Jeep are considered more reliable... again thats my thoughts after trawling through the posts on here.
Still saying that I think disco's can look cool with all the right gear. The reliability worries me too much now to consider them a viable purchase.

The only thing the Disco has going for it is the price,you'll have quite a choice for 2k.You'll struggle to get a decent Wrangler for that, although Cherokees are cheap too, although know very little about them tbh.
Yes on further investigation you can get a hell of a lot of Cherokee for 2k. Also Toyota Surf is a very affordable truck worth considering. However saying all this I would like a Land Cruiser, but decent ones seem to be around the 4k mark, which may preclude them for being a viable purchase.Gassing Station | Off Road | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
