I have booked with MX Dubai (www.mxdubai.com) 14:30 on Friday Feb 19th 2hr session. They have spaces available. AED 690 cash inc. all riding gear. For those with no powered 2 wheeled experience, mx Dubai offer a separate training session.

How was the ride?
a complete disaster. Didn't actually happen for us, the second group. the first group was supposed to get to where we were in 4 hours and got there in 9 hours (NINE) instead. this is due to a chain of issues. The company MX Dubai eventually dealt with it ok for us I guess. st just happens.
We're riding this Friday though. I am even more excited than I was last week!
Will keep everyone posted.
ah, and I've been watching Dubizzle like an eagle. New kitchen in UK or KTM? Wife hates me anyway
Gents, I am just back from my ride and can't recommend it enough.
Seriously amazing stuff.
was only two hours before the clutch decided to say goodbye - it was dodgy to begin with but what can you do.
I have to warn you though; you do this, you will want a dirt bike and all the ancillaries.
Me, I'm sold. When I'm back from the UK in a few weeks I'll probably do another ride like this and then get my own sled.
We could organize a ride for March at some point. Let's think about it.

Well I'm just back from 4 hours with just gas it (called big red now). I ache like fk already!!
Will get some videos up when I get a chance. It was brilliant. I've ridden off road quite a bit in UK and Spain - and am a fairly competent rider. This was so different! So hard. For the first hour I felt like I'd never ridden a bike before.
Lots of falling off, lots of getting stuck, but when it went well it felt like skiing down the side of a mountain when you get the right lines.
Personally and I know this is boring, but if no experience of riding in sand, or no experience of off road riding, do the beginner 2 hours or else I think you will put yourselves off. Nothing wrong with being scared (and I was!) but you want to enjoy as well. They guy there told me that they have lots of competent road and track riders turn up and they have to take them back after 30 mins and give them a voucher for the beginners 2 hours.
The bikes were excellent too. Mine has only done 40 hours - and was immaculate. Note the word was!

I'd agree with the totally different sensation when riding on sand for the first time. I'd compare it with the difference between snowboarding on a piste and in powder. You have to let the bike flow and move around a bit under you. It's funny to see all these pristine front disks - never used.
I look forward to having a group ride out with you lads very soon!
My friend is here at the moment, who has ridden quite a bit on the road and couple times green laning/enduro days in Malaysia . He came out with me riding on Friday and he struggled in the sand, but finally got his head together after a good 2 hours and stacking it 10+ times. Despite moaning all day about how hard it was and how he cannot go on, he woke up the next day aching like hell but didn't stop talking about how much fun he had!
It's addictive.
