I’ve been up a few times in recent weeks. The time the rozzers were there was straight after Diwali and they were handing out rubbish bags at the bottom.

Not seen any presence of the police on the way up though.

What I have seen though is cyclists loads of em and all over the road including cutting across lanes on the way up so be very aware of that.

Also quite a bit of gravel on the apexes (apices?) of corners.

Not been mid week yet but I think it must be better as I think you’d dodge the cyclists.

Ok so I've done decided on a rental, no exotic this time as i cannot get unlimited mileage. So 981 Boxster with unlimited mileage for 1000AED which seemed too good of a deal to pass.

Just deciding on what day to go. I want to be out exploring in the evening, if i go on week day it looks like i'll have easy run there and it should be quite, so thinking Wednesday.

Any speed camera's from Dubai Marina to Jebel Jais? Also if I leave the Marina at 9am and head up there for lunch time will it be too busy? Thanks.

Err yeah, tonnes! New limit of 110kph on the E311 means the cameras’ll flash you at 130kph now.

As I said before, if you’re going mid-week it’ll quiet up on Jebel Jais during the day.

Thanks mate. Any recommendations for a light lunch local to Jebel Jais? I've seen things on Google Maps like links, riders cafe etc.

It's a little while ago now but the Rixos Bab al Bahar was lovely when I stayed there.

This may save someone a wasted trip ...

Anyone on here driving the Alfas in convoy this morning? They sounded good and were well driven, we got mixed in with you as we turned around for our second ascent ...

I made my first trip to the mountain on xmas morning. Really fantastic road, well sighted and, given the day, practically zero traffic. Thanks to santa jase for the lend of his caterham s3
