Just following on from what Jason90 has said.

I would say that to set up "home" in say a two bed apartment i.e. you have arrived with nothing but a suitcase, you are going to be looking at around AED35-40K. This will incl. all electrical appliances, beds, living/dining room furniture, etc. However, this is NOT top of the range stuff, just your average Ikea grade stuff.

Cheers Yorky. That's something I'd not even thought of.

I'll see if I can negotiate a furnished flat in the package because I could do without that expense.

My first daughter is on the waiting list for a decent school. We put her name down 2 years ago and we are at about No.20 on the list. Which is OK, as she is only 2 years old now and won't actually be going to school for another 2 years yikes

Cost is close to $6,000 per term.
