We (evolve.ae) are holding a car based treasure hunt on the 8th, starting at 10am at TGI Friday on the Beach Road. Check Evolve.ae forums for more details.

I'm sure there will be some kind of beer session afterwards too!!

How is life in AD? IIRC from your 'shampoo' post weren't you supposed to be in Dubai anyway?

No always AUH based, just got back out here after 2 week leave. Strange to think I've done just over 3 months here already.

I'm still on my initial (temporary) contract, but I'm considering signing for 2 years - at which point they'd bother to find me an apartment & car. It would be much cheaper for them, seeing as when I checked out of the hotel before leave the bill stood at just over £15k!

I've been borrowing cars whenever others have been on leave, so was up in Dubai for a weekend a while back - but being immobile is a bit of a pain in the arse! Although it does mean I have a driver take me to work and back, so I get to sleep in the car, instead of get angry!
