Cracking pic's, amazing colour! Looks like a great event too, sadly here in East Anglia it's a bit flat for that kind of carry on hehe

Are they Tomcats?

The first, third and fifth photos are Tomcats. The fourth is a chevy powered Simbuginni. I'm not sure about the second one.

There were also a real mix of other cars :

Wildcat
Milner
3M Special
Warrior (2 types)
Tornado
GSR
Rally Raid (which looks very similar to a QT Wildcat)
... and a wonderful selection of hand-crafted self-builds

The rest can be seen by following the more link at the bottom of my original post.

Cheers

Some from the Lotus Festival at Snetterton 25/26th of June.

The weather was best described as 'a mixed bag' hehe

The standard clam is extremely heavy so this is a lightweight version. It comes off as one piece as well, making access to the engine bay significantly easier than on the standard car. It's a bit of a work in progress but soon to be repeated at the front and then vinyl wrapped.

I popped these in a thread on General Motorsport but don't think anyone's very fussed. Maybe more relevant over here. The Historic F1 race which supported the Canadian GP. Nice miscellany of cars and great to see a Wolf on home turf, quite apart from an ex-Gilles 312 T5. Some paddock shots here too: http://www.motorcardiaries.co.uk/2011/montreal-his...

I had to go and read your initial post again as I thought 'that's a clear photo considering it's 30 years old!'
redface. It was the Gilles helmet that really added to the authenticity.

Great shots of some charismatic F1 cars, certainly more interesting, individual and better looking than today's offerings, IMO. Particularly like the 'full fronted' cars like the March 761 and the Brabham BT44, plus the Williams FW08. Good stuff smile.

It's really nice as a lot of them wear replica helmets - as you'll see from Peterson's March 761 and Tom Pryce's Shadow. I think it's a nice touch. There was a wonderful field of cars and all being driven hard, as you would wish them to be. Nothing like an angry DFV. Also proves it wasn't raining all weekend in Montreal!

While I'm posting, a few here from the Lotus Festival at Snetterton a couple of weekends ago. Not all moving cars, but nice to let my little Exige have a punt around the 300 layout. These are very lo-res as I converted them a bit small unfortunately. Give an idea, anyway.

^ Cracking pic's, love the six-wheeler cart!

Where were the hillclimb ones taken? I'd love to have a good look around the paddock of an event like that - looks like some fascinating stuff smile

Chevron, is this you at Snetterton:

I only saw one lazer(?) blue S1 Exige there. Great looking car if it is smile
