MSV Team Trophy & Trackday Trophy 2014

Wasn't expecting much from Snetterton last weekend if I'm being honest. Was just planning on doing it for a signature. Quali was a nightmare! The car doesn't work on those Toyos if it's anything other than dry. Plus I don't 'work' in the wet unless I'm in a go - kart! 19th on the grid came as no surprise, plus it was my teammate Oli's first time in the car by himself. It stunned me that he went and did a 2:17.5 on the penultimate lap of the race compared with my best of 2:17.9. He only got his race licence two days before...and that was his first ever race! I've been driving that car for 4 bloody years!
Massive thanks to everyone though for such clean and competitive racing (from where I was anyway). Really enjoyed racing with everyone and loving the friendliness and camaraderie of everyone involved.

Is there an in-car video that shows it? ps I wasn't involved - the team with the orange 968 has replaced theirs with a white one - this was their first race in it. Clio had a head on impact with the end of the pitwall. The driver walked away - yet another example of why HANS should be compulsory?
I have just seen the in car video of this, it came up on my Facebook feed, bloody horrific, I would say "accident" but in my opinion that was not the case, glad to hear the driver was ok. And totally agree ref HANShttp://youtu.be/x0uzMaSsPtw

Terrible driving. Did you see the weaving down the straight earlier in the video? What's that all about? Weaving for Christ's sake! How have we come to this? Should have had a warning flag for that. May be he did, and chose to ignore it.
Whatever the case, this is another bad case of not knowing when to give up a place. Cover the inside. Cover the outside if you like. But, and this is the important one, if somebody is even remotely alongside, you have to give minimum a car's width, no? Especially somewhere like Cadwell.

rumour that, power testing at Brands in a fortnight.
Wish they had done this at the last Brands round, would have saved us a trip to the rolling road, c£100 for a run, and half a day in transporting the car there/back.Just to prove a point and keep whose who ' pointed some fingers!' happy.

My car was dyno'd at Tracktive the day before Brands GP and I was hoping they'd have it at Silverstone.
I'm with Stace on this - I'll believe it when I see it. What's the point of telling people and still bringing it when everyone knows it'll be there? Also why bother in November when the season is already over for some (like me)?
Just doesn't make much sense.

Middle of the season makes more sense I reckon. You had plenty pointing the finger at Brands GP Steve, but I don't see how folk can draw that conclusion purely from lap times. If you get a run on someone and you think you're at the top of the class for power to weight, and they get away from you, then it needs looking at. If you study the circuit and test the day before may be, there's a good chance you'll be quicker than stuff the next class up. I'm with Stace on this - I'll believe it when I see it. I don't get the point of this. All this tells you is the power at the time it was tested. If that's not while it's at the track, you could have fiddled with it after getting it dyno'd and before taking it to the track.Just to prove a point and keep whose who ' pointed some fingers!' happy.

Yes - power test needs to be some time in 1st half of the season. Andy J will be working on getting my old 120k miler car into class A for next season and Brands GP will likely be my best chance of a win - just because I know the circuit so well. I'll even put new tyres on the car again You know we are only really working on getting the compression up because I want to optimise my chances of winning AMOC Intermarque Championship after finishing 2nd overall this year.Gassing Station | UK Club Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
