Car 2 (at the moment), a green Rover 200.

Also starting to make plans to run a targa rally at Bovington Camp in Dorset, mostly tarmac/concrete with some smooth gravel sections. Saturday 18th August, really not sure how many entries we will get but the club will try anything once.
See you there! My Suzuki has gone off to Jace's Zed Shed for some TLC and should be back on time.

Good luck with the Targa, shame I'm on vacation that weekend. Farnborough & DMC's Bramley Targa seems to be attracting a decent entry, so as long your date doesn't clash with anything similar, I'm sure you'll get 30-40 cars no problem. Possibly more as the road rally boys will be itching to do something in the summer break.......and being at a known rally venue helps.

Rapscallion 12-car rally tomorrow night, Guildford MC are putting this on. Happily like most 12-cars around the south of England, it is oversubscribed.

I've had to pull our entry as the navigator has been unavoidably detained. Plenty reserves to take our place, and I'll be along marshaling. The Suzuki is coming home tonight after a change of manifold/cat and fitting a sumpguard, so I think it's all ready for the Saltire Classic next week.

Thanks for this, given I'm expecting to do a number of the Targas this year I've registered for the championship... I won the ASWMC Loose Surface Championship in 2003, it'll be nice to have a long term goal again.

Festival's next for me, new gearbox going in the ZR this week.

John Robson and Hexham Historic rally this weekend. We are car 13 in a 40 car field with another 7 historic cars tagged on too. Good strong entry for this which is now the only night road rally in the North East of England. Starting at the sailing club at Derwent reservoir, looks like we are using some of the Forrestry areas with about 20 miles of ‘whites’. Disaster for us last year when we had a puncture and couldn’t change it quickly. Hoping for a solid top ten this time.

Good to see you Jez, thanks for Marshalling, cracking phots as always.

Another disappointing John Robson for us, found we had a puncture just after I had taken a time to go in to Shephard Shields Forest. (fu###ng Maxsports Are useless) pulled off at the side of the control, only to find the Jack had broken. Managed to borrow one that almost fitted off the Marshal, but by the time we had it changed we were so close to OTL it wasn’t worth carrying on. Just as well we didn’t either as the replacement Steve put on let go this morning too, probably damaged in the Forest, we would have been stuck with no means of changing it. We lent our second spare to Mark and Steve in the other Clio who had trashed two Tyres by half way. They were heading home too.

The sections we did up to that were excellent though, Jonathan and Ali seemed to find all the whites and byways on the map to link up. The Forest was mega too, even on odd Tyres!. Still a great event and I expect we will back.

Sadly, the Saltire Classic Rally this weekend has been postponed, due to the weather - some test locations are already snowed in and the forecast is for lots more.

So I think a weekend off motorsport...

I'm supposed to be doing the Bath MC Festival this weekend.... haven't heard yet whether it's still running, if we get what's forecast then I fear not.

Same with the Tour of Cheshire. Might not be a problem for the event, but getting over the pennines on a Friday afternoon is hard without the Snow!!

I read this on BRF about the Bath Festival:

"We have no reason to think about cancellation. We have bright sunshine and no sign of any snow.
Let’s be optimistic."

I'd love to do it but it required a roll hoop and harnesses, neither of which I have.

I can't imagine the Donington Rally going ahead either....

Bath is under amber warning at the moment, not far from the red zone....

The Malcolm Wilson Rally up at Grizedale is scrubbed too.
Not a good weekend for motorsport.

Bath Festival now off, Donington making the call at 12noon. Only Roskirk left I think! And maybe a CSMA 12-car in Bucks wink

It's sad but all for the best, I would NOT want to tow down to Bath in this.

Cheers, a last minute passenger meant I could let Matt B's dad do the PC and I could take some more pictures, biggrin

Anyone else doing the Bramley targa this weekend?
Just managed to squeeze in through the reserve list, micra is sporting fresh tyres, sump and wishbones and I'm very excited!

Shame the trailer isn't ready, going to be a long day driving to Surrey and back..
