I’d say decent aero is more important than all out weight for a single seater lid.
When your neck is carrying the weight of the helmet and you're maybe pulling high g's etc. Weight very much mattersIt's not about just the weight of the overall vehicle, it's how it affects the driver.
A vote for Hedtec here. Myself and my two work colleagues all have Hedtec, in different models, all are wearing well, mine in particular gets a lot of use. The V2 I had ten years back had issues with the visor coating and interior material pulling out after 18 months, I was offered a 10% discount on a new one as parts (visor) were no longer available. I bought a Hedtec and will do so again when it expires next year.

+2 for Hedtec, have the GEM with FHR posts. Fits my head really well and materials feel good VFM.My Koden arrived, quality looks decent, few small divots and the odd mark from them polishing in the epoxy but they're tiny and only because I'm looking for them, relatively light, about 300g lighter than my previous headtec, but nothing like you get from a top end carbon that would be that again.
Comfort wise it's okay, pinches a bit around the forehead for me, but in terms of comfort, it's easily 2-3x better than my old Headtec, no exaggeration - I hated that helmet after a while, I would never buy another - but I would still say compared to some Stilo's I tried on at Motodrive - if I had £700 I'd buy the Stilo, no question, the Koden doesn't come close to it for comfort and especially not for sound deadening with those internal earcups the Stilo's have.
At half the price though, it's not bad, quality looks fine, decent looking lid, fit is spot on for the sizes.

Absolutely, but worth knowing so you don’t head up to the scrutineering bay with £2.50 in your pocket only to find out you need a fiver.
I'm surprised the scrutes don't have a SumUp machine or equivalent. I'm thinking of getting one for our car club.OP: the Koden looks great
Likewise mine arrived today. Mine is the open face, looks a little more plain that the above helmet.
Annoying to see the "made in China" box...but I guess that's just the way things are. The carry bag was also inside out.
Helmet feels heavy enough though, but I guess that is expected from a budget helmet. But quality looks ok, would have preferred not to have the carbon seam line right down the middle of the lid...but it's still well finished.
It also fits quite well, feels comfy enough.
As I'm using it in car, I removed the little ear cups, I have no need for noise reduction.
All in all seems pretty good, and a lot comfier than my previous helmet. Oddly, for a helmet I'd been enquiring with Koden for a few years about, to the same response of it not being available yet....date of manufacture is Sept 2020.

I did that and now when I put my glasses on the arms catch on the back of the holes where they were. I assume they were for rally intercom gear?
That was an annoyance with my last helmet, although I think partly as it was a tighter...bad fit. Haven't tried putting sunglasses on with this one yet.Last one was ok if I put the helmet on with the glasses already on though, just difficult to get them on right if the helmet was on first.
Will give mine a weigh tomorrow, it should be lighter than the full face.
But yes, the gaps would be for intercom stuff. Certainly in a very loud car....such things are pretty essential. A friends car has the trans etc solid mounted and straight cut gears and transfer gears, and the noise in the car is utterly horrendous. Some sort of ear protection/intercom is essential.
I like mine a bit more civilised !
