I have serious interest in my race car (modified saloon, not road registered) from a prospective buyer who lives in Switzerland. Before I get too carried away can anyone please offer any advice with regards to the export process (which I assume is more complicated due to Brexit)? It's not a particularly expensive vehicle but depending on likely tax costs it may or may not be worth pursuing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The export process is straightforward. His import process is harder.

V5 has a section on it for export / scrapping which you fill in and send to DVLA. Buyer retains rest of V5. Make up invoices clearly stating all the usual things including VIN / registration.

Are they coming to get it or are you having to send it?

Hi - thanks for your answer. It hasn't got a V5 (any longer) as it's not been a road car since 1997. My preference is that they come and get it - as I no longer have a van and trailer, though I suspect a third party will be used for the transport as I don't think they have a van/trailer either. I guess there is at the very least the carnet to get into France that's a requirement?

My understanding was that a carnet was required when temporarily exporting and then re-importing something - eg taking a race car to Europe for a race weekend and then coming home.

i exported my race car to Malaysia, so obviously outside the Eu. No issue, car was in store lin Reading, booked a transporter to Harwich, put in a container, put on a ship I think the container company wanted some proof of ownership.
I had a bill of sale, where I bought the car in Norway
Dont over think it, personally I wouldn't get involved, sell it ex works. With your drive being the 'works',
My car was road legal when in Norway, when I left there I just drove it on a ferry. 2years later the Biltillsynet (Norwegian Dvla) phoned me up wanted the plates back as I hadn't upfated the road tax, I laughed, they said they would come and collect them, I told them give me notice so I could keep the spare room empty for them and save them the hotel cost, there is no more issue exporting a non registerd car from the UK than say Tv. Importing is complete different
