Hopefully I am doing my first ever sprint this weekend and one of the things I need to buy/make is a timing strut and I have no idea where to start!! I've read the details in the blue book but I still can't seem to picture something for my car. Anyone got any advice they can give me?

Just needs to be a bit of metal painted black with some way of attaching it to your bumper or number plate or wherever so long as it sticks out in front of the car at the right height etc. Seen lots of people use the screw holes for their number plates as fixing points, or just stuck on with tape. Mine has a bracket which goes to an intercooler mounting under the bumper.

pic shows my car on a start line with the timing equipment to give you an idea of what is needed.

Hope that helps

For one off events, I've made mine from a packet of cornflakes and plenty of duck tape... or an old baking tray...

Thanks for the answers guys, I just need to work out how to make something up and what to use. I think I'll mount it off my number plate, but with the Droop Snoot on my car it might be a little difficult.
