Just received the 2009 regs - the restriction on engines has been lifted. Engines no longer need to be from the manufacturer of the road car on which the race car is based.
Engine:
Free save that it must be based on a standard production engine from a proprietary manufacturer and have been fitted to a production road car
This opens up the series to the various TVR and Marcos cars that now have Chevy engines.

Good all round - 30 - 40 min races sounds good. 15 - 20 min Sprints just pointless for all the effort that going into them (what I am doing next year (No not Super GT (I Wish) 30 - 40 min races).Good News Andy - even the AMOC know that they need cars out there, I might even come and watch some (where as I'd would never both going to just TVR race).

I'd pay to see the Super GT series if I did not have to drive that far (that is all I am saying).

Clubbies - most of the spectators are competitors, car club member or mates of either anyway!

Sweet sound like it is coming along nicley - lets hope most have the proper engines (or at least Red Rose tune 4.5 road lumps).I'll have to check with you which Super GT races (in the South) you'll be doing and pop along if not clashing.

If you know any one who is interested in racing on the Super GT Series next year,don't hesitate to ask. My Father created the series and raced in it.There were some extremely exciting races with the highlight definately being the end of season race at donington between David Ellis and Anthony Reid.The series is now in good hands and we should see some wonderfuls cars taking to the grid next year and some familiar faces from the old Intermarque days.And if anyone hasn't heard,Malcolm Hamiltons old car is being rebuilt. zif you know anyone who is interested in racing in the Series contact Comps@amoc.org.

Can we put a cap on the cars please?
In the glory days of Intermarque, there was "standard", "midly modified" and "highly modified" classes. Can we drop two and just have "highly modified".
A race for the real extreme mutant b*stard racing cars. And if they dont split flames, they're not in. How does that sound?
Seriously, cant wait for the 2009 season. Donington was a fabulous race. Will the Caparo be there? Will someone join with a Gumbert or Veyron?? So many questions...

The caparo has been banned because as you could probably expect there were a lot of complaints and the driver even said this is just for fun so he understood when it was banned. As for putting a cap on the series, wonderful idea but very unlikely as we need other cars to fill up the grids and as we have been promised Richard Chamberlain,David Ellis,Marsh Plant,Trevor Knight,Sagaris,and other wonderful cars, we need other cars that resmeble the old class A and B (Standard and Mildly modified cars).This would make the racing very exciting as there would be a race at the front,the middle and the back which makes it exciting both for the spectators and the drivers.
