Who's racing what in 09?
Discussion
Yes the series is open to anything from the VAG stable, but nothing from beyond 2002 at the moment.
There will be a class system with a success ballast system in operation too.
As you've probably already seen from the 750MC calendar there are only 5 rounds this year later on in the season to allow plenty of time for competitors to prepare their machinery.
There has been a significant amount of interest generated already and some familiar faces have come out of the wood-work from all levels of club racing.
Hopefully the series will mirror the success of the GTI Championship and achieve MSA recognition quite quickly.
Both the GTI Championship and the VAG Series will be represented on the 750MC stand at the NEC next month.

Golf GTI Championship again this year, possibly a couple of VAG Series rounds if we can get the Skoda together.
What is the VAG series? I saw it listed on the 750MC 2009 Planner, but hadn't heard of it before...Volkswagen Audi Group, hence including Skoda's and Seat's I presume....Lamborghini's too??peter-2006 said:

I'm hoping to finally get my Westfield back out again after a few years off and will either run it in the 750MC Kit Car championship or possibly move over to the BARC Westfield championship.
Hello Ed, good luck mate, I'll come and see you! Seems like ages ago we raced in kits, cheers, Jon.jfp said:

You could look in to the "Magnificent 7" series that the Classic Sports Car Club intend to run this year - a series for all "locaterfield" type cars featuring 30 min practice and 40 min racers with a compulsory pit stop for one or two drivers. The regs will be available from the club stand at Autosport Show and the CSCC web site.I'll be racing an MR2 Roadster in the 750MC MR2 Championship. The series has grown immensely over the past year and 750MC have allocated double grids in 2009 to accomodate everyone. Mk1 and Mk2 MR2s will now race seperately, with the mk3 cars joining the most appropriate race depending on numbers / relative pace.
Registration and entry fees have been frozen from 2008, and there's currently a tyre amnesty for those drivers from the mk1 Racing series who want to get their existing R888s rebranded and make the switch.
Also on the calender - tentatively, because we're not sure it will be dark enough before the curfew - is the MR2 Championship's first night race. Really, really looking forwards to that one!
We'll be on the 750MC stand at Autosport International if anyone wants to look us up.

Over in Canada here - I'll be running my '84 Reynard in formula ford guise this year. Planning on getting to the 40th Anniversary of FF in North America at Road America (4.0 miles long!) in late July. They're expecting 100's of FF's, so if anyone is in eastern Can/US in July - make it a part of your plan.
The rest of the season will be alternating between Calgary (Alberta) and Gimli (Manitoba) for the WCMA season.

I'll be out in my Stuart Taylor Locoblade, doing most rounds of the RAF Motorsports Association Race Challenge and possibly a few NSSCC rounds as I am local to Croft. Should crack the Birkett at the end of the season too!
Unfortunately impending marriage may knock some of the racing on the head but not all! Say hello if you see me around, normally #76 and carrying a big orange arrow along my green bodywork

Frodo Monkey - see my post on the CSCC "Magnificent 7" series above, too. I think that a Locoblade is eligible for that and will give good track time per pound. There is the option to share the car (and costs) in the mini-enduro format & CSCC are also going to allow a "relay" format if 2 car owners want to race half a race each. If you are in the RAF then you could race at Anglesey - arrange a "duty visit" to RAF Valley!!!Unfortunately impending marriage may knock some of the racing on the head but not all!
