I've been trying to get on to the MSA site to renew my licence but can't get on. Is this usual?

Anyway, will fill in the paper form.

It's all straightforward enough except for the third page of the renewal form. what is the stuff in 'STEP 2'??? I'm assuming this is something you pay if you are entering specific events??

Cheers

Al

I've heard lots of stories about the online application being a waste of time, sending it by snail mail will only be the cost of a stamp + one day. I can't remember what step 2 was but if it's for fees payable then you only need the one for the licence you want.

Paper route was pretty effective too. They followed up with an email confirming receipt of paperwork yesterday and another today advising that licence was being printed.

Good effort.

Now....where's that engine?

Can't imagine why. It's worked fine for me for the last 2 years.

Maybe it's from people who can't cope with internet technology and nothing to do with the MSA website.

Tried several times on line last week, despite fitting the criteria and being advised to renew this way by the MSA (and being "well able to cope with internet technology") got to the payment page, enter card details......wait......then....."your licence cannot be renewed on line, please use postal service".
I guess it could be a problem with their payment system at the time, but it happened at least 3 times during the week. Did it by post instead and have had the recieved email and the printing email within a couple of days. Licence itself not arrived as yet but not really worried about that yet.

Same here - there online system was a joke.

They need to get it sorted. But the old fashioned way worked just fine, fast turn around.

I didn't think you'd be able to do the online thing Jon as you need a medical when you are over 45. laugh

Filled my application in online on Monday, license landed yesterday morning. A massive improvement from the weeks it used to take before the switch to card licenses.

Although it worked fine last year this year my online application stopped on a half generated web page almost at the end of the process. Every time I tried to start again I was told I have an application that needs to be completed! Tell me about it.

I'm posting mine tomorrow.

Posted mine on a Sunday - new licence recieved back in the post the following Saturday.
MSA kept me up to date as well with progress emails - six days total turn around.
Great service all in all - especilally as i was upgrading my licence and sent copies of race results in lieu of signatures.

Daren - you need to sort your Profile page out - full of gobblydigook.... I had the same problem months back - gave up in the end and just put pic's up and minimal text.
