CSCC doesn't bother with "eligibility scrutineers". No need to, the regs are simple and straightforward & not very restrictive to allow maximum participation on purpose. Safety scrutineering is all thats important.

Looks like I'll be out with you guys next year. Ran my car spec through Nigel Gibbons and all looks ok for the up to 3000cc class.

After running this year and last in a championship series, I'm looking forward to fitting in races when I can without the thought of lost points.

Hope to see some of you next year on the grid and in the paddock for what seems like a friendly well run series. smile.

It'll be good to see a TVR out. I assume its a Ford 2.8 or 3 litre V6?

Andy,
It's an essex 3 litre V6. Be nice to be racing with something other than TVRs!

The more the merrier!!

Silverstone with Mag7's looks great this weekend and what with Swinging 60's having 10 reserves and the biggest entry of Tin Tops yet it shows CSCC are doing something very right.

See some of you at Silverstone on Saturday thumbup

Paperwork completed and received.
We will be at Cadwell then. One stupid question will CSCC ship the series sponsorship decals etc or is it relatively free? When will a race number be allocated? I'd like to have it ready rather than make one!

You're wrong with the Shrick requirement - that's for /Production BMW/ class cars in their own series.

TTRS has no such requirement for a 325.

Cheers

Yep got that one answered a while back.
Went to the PBMW race at Oulton a few weeks back. The TTRS was really good and fun from the spectator side too. IIRC you did pretty well wink

We will definitely be out with TTRS next season!

Usually, the stickers and race number allocation are sent to you, if you have not received them in a week or so give the club a call. Failing that they normally have stickers and race numbers available at signing on.

Hi,

Yes, sorry - clocked that after I'd posted..

You should have come to say hello, there were plenty of us around. Wasn't a bad day, and coming after the week before (engine in, engine out, engine in, tow car break down and arriving at the circuit at 1am after a 19hr journey) it was particularly welcome. Must remember to keep buying Autosport their beers too.. wink

I'm looking to enter the CSCC round at Snett if I can, so catch up there if you don't pop along to another TTRS round I'm doing (DTM support 4/5/6 Sep @ Brands, and Silverstone GP 3/4 Oct).

All the best,

Stacy

What mods are allowed in Tin Tops.
The regs seem to be lacking 'detail'!
Thanks.

The reg are lacking in detail on purpose in order to encourage the max number of people to race - the main points are: no turbos, no sequential gearboxes, original engine TYPES, original engine induction TYPE, original size and shape bodyshell.

Its not ModSaloons, though. Modifications are allowed but its a series that does tend to be home for club racing saloon & hatchbacks built to "normal" clubman standards rather than being for ex BTCC or bewinged Britcar Cars!!

Have a look in this week's Autosport, Page 90/91, for a report by one of the Autosport Journalists on his experience of racing with the club in the "Inter Series Challenge" (Tin Tops, Future Classics & Magnificent Sevens) at Spa back in July.

Lee,

FYI I won't be at Snetterton after all I'm afraid. :-(

After a waiting period for the CSCC to confirm eligibility into Tin Tops, which was then received, I sent in the necessary paperwork.

Unfortunately I have recently received a new missive saying that after another meeting it wasn't eligible after all. All very entertaining.

So come to Silverstone instead!

All the best,

Stacy

Thats a shame. The tin tops at Cadwell had very full grids and some quite impressive guest drivers.

We had a total engine failure at Cadwell so hit a minor stumbling block. After sourcing a replacement engine from a much lower mileage car it would appear we are back up and running with only our pride and pockets affected.

So we'll be out at Oulton next Friday for testing before Snetterton. Won't be able to get to Silverstone though frown

Is your car not eligible for Future Classics?
