Hmm, having just agreed to part with another chunk of cash for the TVR I'm unsure if that means I have to hang on to it for the sake of the investment or whether it's a sign that I'd be pushing my luck using it as a track car!

Sadly that dilemma has been resolved for me.

With a rather heavy heart I sold the Tiv this morning. frown

All I can say is this track car has a lot to live up in terms of smiles per mile.

Just got my regs back for this; good entry this time, lots of people. Eight in my class alone, the most I've ever seen.

King Richard - did you enter?

What's the general dcB for Sprints?
When I raced my snoot it was 105dB but now I've got this Cosworth-powered Firenza I want to Sprint it but with a twin Stainless Steel exhaust system with no CATs I don't know what dB it has.

Same, apart from one or two places. I think Goodwood's 100dB.

goodwood is 105 static, 101 driveby

lydden is about 110 static, no real drivebys

Silly (ish) question; but other than at scruitineering for a race/sprint how can I check my db?

either buy a noise meter from Maplin, or turn up to just about any event at your local track and ask nicely

I sprint a 1.6 205 in the AEMC Championship, loads of fun and fairly competitive for what really should be the underdog of the class. I'd recommend one, straight out of the box they're well suited IMO. A decent 1.9 (if you can find one) would be even better, i used one of mine for one event last year and it worked well, but i'd recommend swapping the 'box for a shorter 1.6 one, and may as well swap the flywheel for the lighter 1.6 item too while you're there.

Last year won the std production up to 2litre class(A0) and this year in the same class (B3) as eastlmark, need a bit more power than the tired 1.6 to keep up with them ideally, but it's holding it's own at the moment, 2nd in the class to mark with 2 less events.

110? I'm pretty sure it's 105 or are you referring to the fact that they might not be all that strict there wink
