Hi chaps,

No I haven't entered anything yet. I'm about to put the scoob up for sale, I can't see the Jag being a competitive sprint weapon (lol) and I'm still running the MG in after it's work.

I am keen to take the MG on some hoonage to an event, but I want to be confident it won't disintegrate around me first hehe

Will be at Debden tomorrow, new car, new class, lots to learn all over again!
Are you not in B3 in the Renault Spider, as before?
Ooh, bringing the Clio? Giving me a chance then? :laugh

Shame in a way though changing mid-season!
no, not the Clio as you saw, was good to see someone else giving it a go in one though, think it could be quite a good car for the faster courses. Must admit since the 4wd's were banned from the class, B4 is now seeing a great range of intersting entries.

Mark, any chance of sending over the photo your lad took of me when I was lined up for the start? smile

FWIW I'm documenting my exploits at http://www.bogart.org.uk/220_Racing
I will check his camera later when (when I have finished fiddling with my brakes!) and send you it. Probably out of focus knowing him!

True, but competing against a bunch of 911 GT3 RSs (which are, after all, thinly-disguised race cars) means it's unlikely you'll ever be competitive in B4. I'm thinking of buying something else over the winter -- I quite fancy B3 as there's an upper limit on the cars there. Would have thought an Integra or S2000 would do well.

However not a lot of fun for those of us with 4WD as now very few people to play with.frown With decreased entries everywhere a tricky decision on fairness v class sizes?

S2000, they do really well in the class. But i suppose they should, as it's debatable if they should *really* be allowed in the class and not class C with the other 2 seater sports cars... laugh

ITR would be good though!

I can't think of a sub-2 litre NA car with any more power than an S2000, so they should go well. Trouble is I think I'd have to ditch my open face helmet to drive one, unless it had a hard top.

Indeed do go very well, there was one in my class (A0) last year, walked over everything in the class, again though, debatable if it really should be allowed!

I did the same amount of events as that one and managed to beat him in the championship on points alone luckily though! Mind you, thinking about it i don't think something like a well driven Clio 16v/1*2 etc or even 1.9 205 would be that far off the pace around the twisty courses tbh!

Very true and has not gone un-noticed. Having said that, loads of the cars out there, why are they not bothering? Could be a hotly contended class. IMO.

A Type R/RA Scoob or an EVO 6 are also on my list. I used to have a Mk1 Impreza, bit understeery but the ones with the centre diff control are supposed to be better. I've heard that driving an EVO 6 is a bit like playing a video game though. And try finding a straight one!

Logan Black's very nice champ. winning Evo 6 is up for sale atm. A class winner for the right money.

Maybe see some of you at Hethel.

That wasn't you at Abingdon, by any chance? clap

Unfortunately I wasn't there to see it thanks to a small fire on Friday evening.

Yes that was me, second time out in the GT-R. Had an great tussle with Logan with the lead swapping several times, however the GT-R just had the edge on both courses.

I suspect that if Logan had been driving the GT-R the margin might have been greater....

Will you be making an appearance at Hethel in a couple of weeks?

That'll be a good one to do.

Yeah, it was a nice day, contrary to the weather forecast!

I was 3.8 seconds behind the leading TVR, putting me almost exactly mid-field, so I was happy enough with that.

Hi, we in the Southwest also do a bit of Sprinting and have some good Venues.
Before the season ends we have Colerne on the 31st August, St Eval 6th Sept, Chivenor 20th Sept and Clay Pigeon 4th October. All of these are good fun and well run events and most of the entry fees are between £60 and £80, Colerne being the exception, but it is a British Sprint round.
I have competed at Lydden a few times, so why don't you all come on down and try our events? I'm sure you will be made welcome.

Bit too much of a trek for me I'm afraid. One of the reasons I enrolled for the AEMC championship was to avoid the necessity of travelling all over the country.
