I thought that I would post a few of my photos from the hillclimb at the weekend seeing as there was a good response to the last one. As far as I could tell everyone had a great weekend with an impressive turnout and even more impressive weather.

I got a bit trigger happy with the camera, but atleast got a few that I was happy with. Here are a small selection of those:

all of the others can be found here:

If you want to download any of them just click the "all sizes" button above the photo and choose what size. I am happy for anyone to use any of them as I just take photos for my enjoyment and no financial gain is expected.

Do they have a paddock at Mamhead now? When I went to watch last year the "paddock" was the loop outside the front door of the house. Looked a nice hill, if somewhat short

We do have a paddock now. Last year we had to avoid it because of the torrential rain (the heaviest we have ever had in 20 years apparently). The paddock is the main front lawn along from where the burger van was last year all the way around to the horses.

You are right that the hill is shorter than most, but everyone I spoke to said they think it is a good hill because it is wider than most hills and requires absolute concentration all the way up to get a good time.

I am really looking forward to the august event as hopefully I should have a new car to compete in and there should be four of us in the family competing (my father, brother, sister and me).

A fine hill.
My mate was clerk there a few years ago and managed to write off the (brand new !) course car!

Sadly I was away whilst it was on, so will be helping at the next one. Looks like you had good weather Chris, Saw Dad in his new car in Newton the other week, looked good, hope he's fully recovered from Spa.

The weather was superb. Completely at odds to last year.

My father is fully recovered and very happy to be racing again. After spa he wondered if he might be a bit apprehensive about starting racing again as the crash was the biggest he has ever had, but when he came back from qualifying at donington at the first meeting this season he was very happy and it was clear that he had no concerns.

The car that he crashed at spa should hopefully be finally rebuilt for the next hillclimb and if it is he is planning on using that. Although technically it is the same car, I dont think that there can be more than a handful of parts that are actually from the old car on the new one. that is how big the crash was!
