My latest hair brain scheme is to buy a Capri, in the back of my mind I see a Zakspeed replica fitted running a Ford 302ci V8, in reality it would probably be only mildly modified, few handling improvements and bigger wheels.

Mk 1 Capri modified along the lines of the RS3001 would be nice and probably easier to get the right look than the Zakspeed replica with one of the later models.

Any ideas what race series these kind of cars would be eligible for?

Does anyone have any experience of suspension setup on any of the above for track racing?

I was going to say "Classic Thunder inc. BOSS" (Blue Oval Saloon Series).

Al Weyman is one of the tech guys, and appears on here from time to time, but is on *cough* ten-tenths most of the time in the National and Club Saloons forum.
If you want his details, his works website is www.cadart.com

Funnily enough we already had a couple of V8 Carpi's under build for Classic Thunder/BOSS.

If you want any more information please feel free to contact me as I am the co-ordinator for the Classic Thunder bit.

On the suspension front, most people would look to multi linking the rear.

I dont knoe your locaiton but the North West Sports and Saloons would be good one to go for. They race mainly at Oulton Park but also go to Croft, Mallory and Anglesey smile

Colin Vickers races in the championship in this:

Also, see my gallerys here of some of the other entrants. I am there photographer so go to most rounds wink

Is he Ade's dad? I know Ade quite well from "real life" (IOW, not motorsport!)

(BTW, Colin had a smack a couple of weekends ago...)
