Evening Sir,

When you say thinking of getting an XR2, is it already race prepared or is it a road car you'll convert?

Hi. You could race it in the BRSCC Ford XR Challenge here :-. http://www.fordracinguk.com/xr.html

and the regs are here :- http://www.fordracinguk.com/regulations.html

You can contact either myself or jasonxr2racer as we both race in the series and you only need a National B licence.

Also have a look at the Classic Sports Car Clubs Tin Tops series - there are some XR2s in that that do very well in the classes. CSCC Tin Tops offers mini enduro racing with 40 minute races for one or two drivers, with a compulsory pit stop. It offers great value for money at all the top circuits, along with the opportunity for either great track time or the ability to share the car & costs with a co-driver. The club web site is here: http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/ click on the Tin Tops logo.

Also have a look at this thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Give me a PM if you want any more info.

Bear in mind that it is probably far cheaper to buy a car that is already prepared than to build one yourself.

thank you everyone for the info. i know it would be cheaper to buy an already prepared car, but i really want to build one. ive got 10+ years experience in the motor trade, maintaing, restoring and heavily modifing cars (yes was abit of a boy racer when i was in my teens). so i like the idea of the chalange.

if you're up North - the SMRC XR2 Challenge is great fun. Grids of 24 cars and 2 races per event. Cars must be standard engine spec though. Full details on SMRC website.

You wont be able to build one for twice what this one is up for. (It is not my car)
There are also some cheap XR2's for sale on the 750 Motor club website

I will have a rolling XR2 racecar for sale soon.

I've just bought another XR2 for Tin Tops and will be selling mine once I've removed a few items of mine.

I could even sell it as a race/trackday car if required.
