Has anyone had issues, or can recommend a broker for insurance against life/critical illness & income protection (to cover mortgage payments) for someone with a race licence?

We have had one useful quote & I would like something to compare it too, the other quotes have been about 1/2 the price, but had have an exclusion for motorsport.

Car is a 1.4 metro in circuit racing btw.

I did mine through our company's bank (Natwest) - who merely 'phoned me and asked a few questions about my experience, the number of races per season, and the number of accidents I've had.

I don't know whether the quote was competitive, or not. I was a very heavy smoker, at the time, so most comparisons would not be comparing apples with apples.

I went through the motor racing in full when I got a quote for critical illness cover earlier this year. It was either HSBC (who supply my mortgage) or A-Plan. I'm afraid I can't remember which! It wasn't a problem though, they just asked me a few questions, such as what type of car it was and how often I was out.

By the way, wavey I raced in the Metro Cup for five years smile
