The BBS mag wheels that we have for our car are lighter than the Dymags that we originally ran, Technomagnesio and OZ are other good options. I'm not saying that any of these are the lightest but they are very light.

They went into administration a few weeks ago. No buyer was found.

Very sad.

Wouldnt have thought i will find anything lighter than the Dymags. Would be very supprised if the BBS were lighter. I know the oz mags are around 4kg a wheel heavier.

I'm looking at some of the Jap wheels. The P1 QF's seem to be light.

Most places i've spoken to class 10-11kg as light for 18*11 wheels.. Dymags always did seem to be the lightest by far... my 18*9 magnesium dymags are a fair bit lighter than my 15*7 compos !!!

The problem i've seen with a lot of the stuff aimed more at the aftermarket than racing is that they may be light but they dont have the strength you need, and quickly become oval or break.

If your after 2-3 sets of wheels all the same size and offset you could give speedline a ring. they would make any size and would vary the construction to your requirements.. but they did have a minimum order of 12 for custom wheels.

Speedline will do 12. Although he was telling me they also weigh over 13KG!

They were saying around 11 when i spoke to them, and depending on constuction could be lighter/heavier... maybe they quoted you on a heavy duty GT wheels. they were fairly cheap as well.

Im swaying t0wards billet wheels, they were also talking about 11kg, and if I move to center lock hubs, then I only need to change the wheel centres.. Need to find some hubs for that first though... Ginetta uprights and hubs look possible... same front and rear with bolt on mountings for the wishbones..

The buddyclub p1 QF's come in at 7.7kg.

So that looks like it may be the way to go?? Seem to be used on in the Jap GT championship.

To be honest cheap isnt the goal. As light as possible is all that matters. Cant see anything being more expensive than the dymags to be honest!

Right, have just been in the garage to weigh the wheels that we have.
Dymag 14x13 6.15kgs
Technomagnesio 15x13 6.15kgs
BBS magnesium 15x13 5.79kgs
so out of these 3 makes Dymag are the heaviest as that wheel is an inch narrower than the others.
