MSA 2009 Go Racing Pack - will it work in Jan 2010?

Evening,

I was about to order an MSA Go Racing pack for my ARDS at the end of Jan, but will a 2009 pack still work in Jan 2010?

i had a 2007 pack and it worked in 2008. i think the only change from this year to the next was it needed a passport photo. i rang up the MSA and they told me everything i needed to know.

Go racing packs do not have a shelf life.
Mine was 5 years old before I got to use it. All you do is ensure the current fee is paid.

If you dont want to use it - sell it, dont bin it.

They are a complete stitch up. When I wanted to get an MSA licence after a few years without one, I had to buy a pack, even though my son and a mate had just bought one. I asked the MSA if I could use theirs - the answer was a firm no. The reason being was if I hadn't bought it, I was less likely to read it. Quite how I was supposed to pass the ARDS test without reading it was beyond them to explain.

Its a money making thing. British motorsport governance at its best, with the clubman at heart. NOT! Get used to it.

Exactly why I need to get another one. I already have one. Did my ARDS a year ago. But the wife was looking to upgrade her license (sprint at the moment)& we need to buy a new pack. Even though she has read & seen mine. Even tested me about it before doing the course.
According to the MSA that is not good enough.

Fees for 2010 are the same as 2009, just cross out 2009 and write 2010 at the top of the form. You get a 2010 blue book with your licence. Ive just done it no problem
