You can fit restrictors to the rack Keith or go the whole hog with longer wishbones, shock mounts and wheel/tyre combo's..
We restricted the lock and modified the body slightly

One slightly approach to reducing the effort required in the steering is to increase the front tyre/wheel width, as long as the extra width is added to the inside of the wheel. This reduces the steering offset (the distance between the kingpin axis and the tyre contact patch) and as such reduces the amount of leverage required to turn the wheel. It also has the added benefit of increasing front end grip.

Just a thought.
This is exactly what I did with my car. Added 2 inches to the inside rim half and run a 295/30/18. The effort to turn the car at car park speeds did go up but anything above is fine.

Regarding the comment above about the tire coming in contact with the chassis: method I used to select wheel width.

Turn steering wheel to point of tire contact with chassis/body work (contacts the light box with the outside edge of the tire first), measure available room on oposite side for additional rim width and repeat on the other side. I don't have the new low profile light boxes installed. This resulted in an additional 2 inches of width on the inside rim half.

Soon after this and a track day alignment I found out that the car needed a dry sump oiling system!
