Gearbox choices ??
Discussion
I have a g50 5 speed box with 600hp and although the 1st gear is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike I am happy with it. I originally thought about the Getrag 6 speed box with centre cable shift but because of the torque I don't need 6 gears for general use.
Regarding sequential boxes as I see it you have 2 choices: -
1. Albins synchromesh (starting at about £12,500 the importer is one of our racing Ultima friends) with either centre lever shift or a steering wheel mounted paddle shift (add about £1,000).
2. This is a Cartonics kit for the later cable shift boxes costing about £3,600. Paul Dixon (V8yes) has one fitted.

Unless you plan to go racing I would stick with the standard G50 'box.
If you plant all 700 ponies you will just spin the wheels so a G50 will cope.
No point in sequential for road use as there is so much torque you don't need fast changes.
A 4 speed 'box would be fine. I have 6 but tend to go up the changes 2 at a time. My 500HP engine has almost 500LBF FT pretty much throughtout the rev range so gear changes can be quite lazy.
