An excellant trip including the following highlights
Everyone just surrounds you car and dreams!!
Seeing off the Ferrari club at 170 mph
200 mph across the Franco/belgium border
failing to stop for 2 bike cops in belgium at 160mph, only 10kms to border hence the increase in speed (video will follow) I started reliving Vanishing Point a that this stage

Having read on f1-live.com how they took 59 cars off speeder post Spa GP for doing 200+ kph, my offence would have meant a prison cell with a big guy who wants to call me Mary - no thankyou - where the border !!

As my teenage son would say....SWEET! Please make the video available! I'm heading to the US Grand Prix at Indy......No 200 mph video from me as I'm taking my 68 Bug and just hoping to make the speed limit!

Well done!

Counted the cost of Spa tonight
1 A wash , and Autogym polish 2 coats
2 Drivers door mirror barely hanging on, weekend job
3 Starter motor knackered - new one being sent by Richard
4 Oil leak from somewhere - it will need an inspection
5 My outrider on the Honda SP1 had an attempted theft of his bike, barrel removed but immobiliser and alarm saw him off,
6. New tyres for SP1 after Rossi style burn out

Sorry G man.

That sort of speed with the sort of closing speeds that would entail, should be left to the derestricted german autobahns where other drivers would expect it.

Although nice one for outrunning the cops.

What is it they say... "Drive it like you stole it!"

Well - you're living proof of it mate!

Glad the car is still in one piece

Believe me I did not do this lightly, but planned the 20km stretch to the French border was three lanes, mirror smooth, zero cars, straight .. I was by myself, I had a motorcycle outrider {Honda Sp1 )up front to safety check the road. Quick call ..

PS It wasn't like it was a big chase, they were in the slip road of a rest area, coming out as I went past, lights came on for maybe 5 sec, and they decided not to bother lights out, me I couldn't wait for the Chunnel and Blighty

Ah! Zero other cars, makes my comments about closing speeds kind of irrelevent.

Outrunnung the police was clearly a split second decision and if you're doing 160, you don't really have the option of stopping for a chat and sponsoring his holiday fund!
