Hello, I've been quietly lurking in the background, not posting. I have been in awe and drool though, looking at the amazing machines you all are building or have built.

My project has been on hold for ages, but recently got given a huge boost from a truly kind, amazingly generous friend. Thank you.

I am wondering if anyone has info on a yellow GTR, that recently suffered an impact?
If you owned the car, please feel free to PM if you don't want to post publicly.

Thank you all in advance for any info you can provide.

I've done a search of the forum, a google image search and gone through the pic thread, no joy.
I could describe the car more accurately or even post a pic, but I don't want to upset the owner as they may want to keep quiet about it.
If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

Some owners are just not 'online'. There are way more ultimas out there than are public on the forum so if youve never seen anything on the PH forums there's a good chance there is no 'public' history.

That is a good point and explains my difficulty. I'll just have to go a little old school on my info hunt. Its almost like Time Team!

Hello WESTGTR.
If it is the yellow GTR with a roof scoop then it was mine. As will be apparent the car was involved in an accident that resulted in a heavy rear impact. It is because of that accident I have not been on here since November 2013. Now I’m back I’d be quite happy to answer any questions. smile

Hi Dom
Thanks to you and everyone else that expressed their best wishes following my accident.
I’d like to say a special thanks to Ultima Sports who have continued to provide help and support over the last 3 years.
All things considered I’m very well. I’ll never get back to normal but I’m sure there are a few that would say I was never normal even before my accident.
Having spoken with WESTGTR it is great to hear his plans.
It was my car this thread relates to so for the curious I have included a link dating back to 2013 - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=13...

The car had been off the road since November 2006 when I was involved in a racing accident at Silverstone. I had the car rebuilt with a few body modifications and was due to collect it from the garage that put the finishing touches to it (in more ways than one).
I collected the car on 16 November 2013 and set off home. A mile or so after joining the motorway and travelling at a steady 62-64 mph whilst I re-familiarised myself with the car it unexpectedly went into a spin and slid rearwards into a lamppost. I must stress that this was a unique accident and should not in any way concern or reflect on Ultima as it was caused by dangerous and incompetent engineering undertaken by the garage from where I collected the car.
I suffered life threatening injuries that included a broken neck with spinal cord damage together with numerous head injuries. I was initially completely paralysed from the neck down but have made a remarkable recovery in that I can now walk and to most people my injuries are largely unapparent.

I loved the Ultima and if I was able I'd have another tomorrow.

I am delighted to have spoken to you Glyn and you are a true gentleman. I'm appalled at what you had to needlessly endure, but like the others, delighted to hear that you not only survived, but made a remarkable recovery.

After all that, the love of the car is still there. To me, this speaks volumes, not just about the car, but the support from the factory, this group of like-minded petrolheads and of course your character. I salute you sir.

I just hope that I can give the car the love and attention you had shown it. I am honoured to be a part of this group and already think that its the most friendly and sharing group I have ever, in all my car owning years, had the pleasure to be part of. Finally, I feel home.
