I do not have an opinion on this camera system, do not have system yet, but was planing to add it to my Evolution when it comes.

Search for "Backup Camera Wired 7Inch LCD Monitor and 4xWaterproof Reverse Camera System"

I can hide each camera behind grill material on all 4 sides of Ultima. If it works, should give 360 degree view around car.

The reason I was picking a wired system was because the Blue tooth systems had slow response time from camera to display.

Tried a couple of this type of monitor in mirror units, the front camera is useless unless you are using it for accident witness and have a recording device,
The rear needs to be super wide angle if it is for parking, if you want a "rear view mirror" while driving then the rear camera needs to be not so wide angle.
I tried a number of different camera modules but never got to the point where I was happy with the result so I gave up and didn't fit anything in the end.
Tech is moving at an alarming rate though so never say never.

I thought about cameras but couldn't find what I wanted.

Went for parking sensors instead. Body colour and cheap off ebay.

F.C.s point about needing two different view angles for parking and as a rear view mirror is well taken. I think that can be resolved with two cameras one super wide and one narrow angle most of the monitors seem to have inputs. Still wondering if any of you have tried particular cameras and monitors that had good sunlight readability ect. Lee

Sorry Lee I used generic stuff, I think the main problem is washout and this I know was down to the monitor (Chinese rear view mirror type), and although it had all the bells and whistles for color (sic) contrast, brightness etc. etc. the picture was pants; probably down to the low pixel ratio because on my laptop the picture was much better.
I thought about using a "semi professional" CCTV type camera, some now have 4k resolution, but without a sensible high quality (usable in a car) monitor I decided it would be a waste.
If you do find a good solution please share.

I have been thinking about this for a long time. My perfect world has always been to have a combined rear camera and sat nav combined in one monitor mounted in the dash however my dash layout doesn't really lend to this. So the only place I could fit a monitor would be in front of the passenger but then this would need to be angled towards me to view it properly.

A simple solution would be swap out my suction mounted sat nav which is a tom tom with a Garmin one and add one of their wifi reversing cameras but I unsure how quickly the camera comes on and the garmin camera quality or wether I can fit another camera to the garmin?

One of my clients builds Monitors for helicopters. The sunlight readability on their stuff is why I have them as a client. Im going to pick their brain on this and see what I can find. Obviously because of the intended user the monitors I speak of start at 7k and go up.
I think a fold down monitor mounted between the two overhead rails could work. Lee

One thing I could add from experience with my set up is you have to be careful of the angle you set it at.
My one was set up like a rear view mirror, but to actually see it you have to slide down and across to look at it straight on, so it is pretty useless.
I guess some screens now have much better viewing angle range, but just keep it in mind.
