Having enjoyed my Aston V12 Vantage for the past 4 years on Sunday morning drives through the Yorkshire Moors and Lake District, I decided it was time to ease up on the miles ( although I think cars are far better used regularly rather than just polished ) so the search began.
I went quite a long way down the McLaren 570s route, but was too much like the Aston and didn't give me the raw driving experience I wanted. Very nearly went back to a TVR, but they're all at least 10 years old and like going back to an exe!
I'd never even considered an Ultima but by chance saw an ad for one near Harrogate, but before I'd chance to go and view it, another much newer and far far better looking and specced one came up for sale.
48 hours later, I'd viewed it, sat in it, fallen for it and done the deal with the owner who proved to be a gentleman, thoroughly decent bloke and a pleasure to do business with.
It's now in my garage and must say, I've not owned and driven a car that ticks every box like this does. I don't expect it to be spanner free or without the odd tweak here and there, which actually appeals to me. I
I'm genuinely pleased to be part of the Ultima club and look forward to meeting some of you and your cars. Drew.

Hi Tim. I don't use Facebook either. Hope all goes well with the build, it'll be worth all the effort.

Congratulations. There's nothing like a 500 hp go-kart. Pic of the garage looks like a perfect pairing. Enjoy

Thanks for all your comments and warm welcome to the club. It's the most addictive car I've owned, not just the performance, but it's road presence and that fact it's work in progress and gives me an excuse to retreat to my garage and away from the telly!
It's going to a pals on Friday to have the geo and ride height set up and adjusted to my driving style. A few vibrations to find and dial out, helicopter vents fitted, smaller alcantara steering wheel and hopefully decent weather for a blast through the Lakes early Saturday morning ( almost withdrew an entry for a championship race a Croft on Sunday just so I could drive it!).
It'd be good to meet up with some local owners if there are any!

There's a Scottish contingent of us that occasionally go for runs/shows etc. I guess you aren't too far away if you are in the the lakes from the likes of Dumfries, if we head south? will likely be next year at this rate!

That's a great car (I was part of the 'quality control team' on the build) - Abbott still has my poprivet gun the thieving gypsy!

Enjoy it as it was built to be driven and there's a lot of hard work and attention to detail that went into the build.

Great purchase, well done!
