Mark 2 ultima?? newbie help
Discussion
Hi there,
I'm new to this and want to invest in an unusual and rare ultima. I've seen a mark 2 for sale in the classifieds and wonder if any can advise me about mark 2 ultimas?
It has a 5.7V8 engine apparently. Does anyone have a rough idea of what something like this would do in 0-60?

Is it the silver one with the integral rear spoiler ?
That's almost identical to mine. Glad to see its worth 37k... Thats a MK3 btw, MK2's are very rare, although they do pop up now and again, usually with Renault transaxles and sometime Renault V6's, neither of which are much fun IMHO
Yea the silver is the Ultima 'Sport' , as in the 'Sport' is the model name, rather than Ultima Sports the company name! Sports could be a bargain as if you look at the difference between the sport and GTRs, they are very clearly related!
There is a 'proper' blue and orange Mk2 for sale on Facebook owners group:

Hi Paul I know that is a MK3 in PH classifieds but I can't see a MK2 so I thought the original poster may have got mixed up. That silver MK3 (Sports) has been for sale for about 18 months - two years now so maybe not worth £37k which is unfortunate as I also own a beautiful Sports (MK3) which in my opinion looks far better than the GTR ( MK4 ) with the awesome rounded rear end. Does anybody have a picture of a MK1 ? I believe the early MK3 had Rover V8 with Renault gearbox

That's my Mk2 and it's in the classifieds under motor sport. I've put a 5.7 litre Chevrolet engine in it and fitted an electric water pump to avoid modifying the bulkhead. Transmission is through a refurbed Esprit gearbox with the beefed up main shaft and limited slip diff so a proper animal that needs driving. Awesome trackway car but I don't have the time to put it through an IVA and road register it. It's got the electric mirrors and been built with the IVA test in mind. I've also go the perspex light covers just not fitted them yet.
