Polson,

Don't worry mate as it's all useful to me anyway!

I can certainly see the logic in running larger bore pipes/fittings and the swirl pot etc. I've been racing for a couple of years and have come accross the surge issues first hand on more than one occasion! As an aside, my 500 Griff on a trackday was terrible for fuel surge problems - or maybe I should just corner slower

I'm going to stick with the -6 fittings and pumps (with the possible exception of the low level tank link to aid filling), but will run a decent sized surge tank with another HP pump. A regulator might be overkill and they ones I've seen have minute bowls anyway. The carb has a reasonable sized float chamber. Remember, I've spoken to both American Speed and Ted about this and they've both assured me that it's fine so I've got some come-back if it all goes pear shaped!

I will be using the car for track days (well, it would be rude not to!) and am building with this in mind as my driving can be er... 'spirited'

Don't let them convince you that one throttle return spring is adequate. I'm sure Guy could tell you what happened to me, or I could discuss it off list with you. It took some 'negotiation' to get that issue sorted.

Chaps, just a gentle reminder that this is a public forum and as such, anyone can view it - including Ted & Co. and I hope that they do as it's all useful feedback I reckon.

Sometimes it's better to be thought a fool than open one's gob and prove it

Trust me - I should know

Fuel delivery certainly appears to be emotive subject! Maybe with the Stack system could be useful to go for the ST8130M and get the fuel pressure input. You can then set it up to give an alarm if pressure dips, hopefully before the engine goes lean and melts pistons.

gdr - it's the ST8130P that I'm going for. It has a fuel pressure sender.

The 8130M has lap timer and predictive lap timing aswell but costs another 500 quid!

Hi,
Just another thought on the subject of running lean. Why not install an A/F ratio or Lambda sensor in the exhaust. I know that there's a small delay in the reading, but it might be another alternative. MY EFI system has a wide-band O2 sensor, and allows me to datalog for 15 second runs. Just another thought. If your running a carb, K&N and Holley make lambda sensors. Cheers!
