New to Ultima ownership - upgrade help...

Hi everyone

I'm new to Ultima ownership, recently just purchased a GTR with LS7 in great condition.

Looking for feedback on worthwhile upgrades for reliability and aesthetics. Considering Zircotec treatment for exhaust over the winter. Also looking to open up cooling and use a freer flowing mesh for the vents over the stock ones. Going to geo and corner weight it soon (that's my trade) so I know where I'm at with it and make sure everything is pointing straight.

Any other useful ideas would be appreciated.

On the aesthetics front... does anyone know the price of carbon mirrors and LED lights?

There are lots of different set ups out there, exhausts, fuel systems being 2 things that might affect cooling of both water temp and fuel temp.

Are you aware of any issues? Zircotec is what I did to take heat down as I had fuel overheating issues and it seems excellent. But quite expensive if you have a car that works fine already.

I have also fitted a cooling fan at the back of tbe engine bay which comes on with the cooling fans to draw out heat in traffic. That also seems to work well.

Thanks for the reply.

I've read plenty on here about heat issues, I haven't had any yet and that's how I want to keep it although I have noticed they do hold heat in the bay quite well! Think zircotec will be the way forward, I've also ordered some gold tape to address heat soat on other key components too. I like the idea of the fan, makes sense to have one when stationary. I'll have to do some more research and stare at the car a bit longer to see what else I think may help.

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately the majority of owners are on a Facebook group now so activity here is v low.
Search for Ultima owners and request to join, you’ll get lots more responses.
As for zircotec, it’s expensive but very very good.
The more open mesh is also very worthwhile, the old gtr mesh is pretty restrictive.
Carbon mirrors and led lights you can get from the factory.
What’s the rest of the spec?

I'm a member on there too but thought I'd use this forum as there's so much info here already.

The rest of the spec, what would you like to know? Running an LS7 with stage 2 cams and I believe an uprated throttle body, G50 5 speed, reverie air intakes, silencers and cats, recently rebuilt intrax dampers, std split rims and brakes.

So many positive responses to zircotec, think it's the way to go. Defo go to make all meshes hexagonal as more open, already use them on our mustang and work really well.

No one has mentioned anything drastically different yet so probably going to go with everything mentioned in above posts... in between driving it of course!
