Wow - you in Oxford, so am I (with with my 3/4 built Sport) - whereabouts ? wouldn't mind dropping round for a chat and a look..
Some good pics of the area concerned, thanks G Man, i can see what you mean. Plenty of room in the middle section though, maybe a different approach is needed like a cross pipe layout with crossed side by side mufflers (lateral not longtitudinal) LH to right RH to left if you get my drift.
I will e-mail you later this week and we can hook up soon.... i definately need to take some measurements without pestering Ted and the factory too much
Thanks for the help guys

UltimaAnimal, Have you checked out spectrum 5's GTR, He has built a twin turbo setup with quite a few pics at www.spectrum5.com If you can find room to just add on some mufflers/cats (if needed).
Poor design? Doubtfull. It looking unconventional doesn't mean its poorly designed. I'm sure Kurt mathematically modeled every pipe length and diameter in his turbo and exhaust layout to optimize horsepower. The motor makes 1300-1500hp at full boost. He's detuned it down to 1000hp. Last time I spoke with him, he was doing exhaust consulting work for F1, Cart, and Nascar teams. Trust me...he's light years ahead of most of us.
Cheers!

UltimaAnimal said: Yeah RS..i have looked quite a lot at them pics, seems like some poor design in there with a lot of pipework, but the principal is good and i like the turbo positions.....wonder which turbos they are, not sure about the exhaust tho :P
BigMack, i dont mean that as an inflamitory remark, the pipework i am refering to is the intercooler system, aircooled intercoolers are old hat now, the lag from all that overlength pipework to and from the turbos to the intake must measure at least 1 Mtr in length to each side. Water cooled intercoolers are much more efficient (water is 20 times more conductive than air) and with the right design, they are a lot more compact, the only down side is the weight of the water used to cool and the 2 extra circulation pumps needed
I also prefer the headers made by the factory for the neatness (posibly not the best flowing of the 2 tho) but i doubt if there would be much in it.
Like i say, for a race car, i think the work done at Spectrum 5 is superb and i would love to see this car in action, but fro road and track day use, it is very untidy and impractical
